I grew up in Tucson and started attempting gardening in the desert there. I had a bumper crop of tomatoes in January! that I'd planted next to a south facing brick wall. And had grapes and watermelon ... just need to think differently - out of the box as to normal garden books.Kareyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17034683057840961060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6303495150750199708.post-24379310868030197092009-03-23T17:49:00.000-06:002009-03-23T17:49:00.000-06:00I LOVE this post and you reference my very dear fr...I LOVE this post and you reference my very dear friend Debbie! She is the one who gave me a copy of your cook book. I have written one in a similar vein but it's in a binder and not published. she gave me yours to inspire me to continue on. Your gardens sound incredible. I am chagrined to let the heat of the south and it's unforgiving clay deter me. maybe this year I will do more. Last year I really took off. I have to grow things here that want to be here, it's a hard battle otherwise.<br>Lovely post, and yes, whatever we can all do to draw women back to home and hearth.Karen Deborahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05892103639142471595noreply@blogger.com
